The winemaker chose to combine the Cretan red varieties ‘Romeiko’ – the sole red grape native to western Crete – and ‘Kotsifali’ with Syrah as an experimental label initially, but the result was beyond expectations – hence the name “Outsider”. This dry red wine is fresh and fruity with pronounced raspberry, clove and blackcurrant aromas intertwined with subtle peppery notes. The body is medium with smooth tannins and long finish. It is best consumed within five years.
